SUMMARY:2026 WWR #5 Walyunga Festival 
DESCRIPTION:The Walyunga Race is the 5th in the 2026 WildWater season. \n\n\n\nStart from the pool above the slalom course in Walyunga National Park and race 400m downstream to the bottom of the Walyunga Chute Rapid. \n\n\n\nRace format\n\n\n\nSprint – Individual and Team. All competitors will receive a timed result and ranking. Season points will only be awarded for the Individual Sprint Race\, which will count towards the 2026 WildWater WA Championship or the 2026 WildWater WA Sundries Series. \n\n\n\nSafety considerations\n\n\n\nWhilst we welcome paddlers of all skill levels\, competitors need to self-assess personal risk based on their own competency and the section of river and its associated levels. SUMMARY:Walyunga to Middle Swan 2026
DESCRIPTION:This is a seeding event for the Avon Descent. \n\n\n\nStarting in the long pool from the top carpark\, race 23km downstream through the Walyunga Slalom Course\, Bells Rapids\, the lower Ti Trees and Amiens through to Middle Swan Reserve. Navigate exposed rocks and Ti-trees with the added fun of rapids and a strong current.  \n\n\n\nSafety\n\n\n\nDue to the course being held in wild water conditions\, it is compulsory for all paddlers to wear helmets and PFD’s. Each competitor should also have a whistle attached to their PFD for emergency situations.  \n\n\n\nNo helmet or no PFD = NO RACE. \n\n\n\nIt is also recommended for all paddlers to have grab loops on their boats to assist rescue and for kayaks to have fully inflated air bags inside their boats to ensure boats do not fill with water in the case of a capsize. All kayak paddlers will require cockpit skirts with appropriate grab loop for ease of escape from a capsized boat. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nEligibility\n\n\n\nThe race is open to all competition craft and will be classed based on type of craft and competitor’s age. DESCRIPTION:Challenging river paddling in moving water including a couple of small rapids\, mountain biking and a cross-country run in picturesque Dwellingup. \n\n\n\nThe Nanga Challenge is a multi-sport event with a focus on fun and challenge. It is about getting into the outdoors\, challenging yourself while having a fantastic day out.  \n\n\n\nThe Nanga is a very good introduction to adventure racing for newcomers and regular racers alike. Paddlers can choose from three options: a ‘nice\,’ a ‘nasty’ or a ‘mean’ course. There is also a ‘no paddling’ option\, so there’s something for everyone! DESCRIPTION:Join us for race 7 of Slalom WA’s winter series at Walyunga National Park. \n\n\n\nSet-up and registrations are at 8:00 a.m. with the race commencing at 8:30 a.m. \n\n\n\nRace 7 will be held at Walyunga National Park\, but depending on water levels\, may change to Ascot Kayak Club. So\, follow Slalom WA on socials to be the first to know of any venue changes. \n\n\n\n\nSafety\n\n\n\nHelmets and PFDs are compulsory. \n\n\n\nRegistrations\n\n\n\n\nYou need to be a member of Paddle WA (PWA)\, either through a club or direct\, to participate in this event.
