2024 Classic Paddle

Navigating road closures and bridgeworks to get there were the least challenging moments of the 2024 Paddle WA Classic Paddle.

Avoiding the busy on water traffic and some big washes made for an energizing 13km paddle.

Perth once again put on perfect Sunday morning weather, with plenty of two and four legged spectators enjoying the sunshine.

100 paddlers took to the water in a bright and colorful display and it was great to see so many OC’s joining us.

There was no shortage of dramas at the finish line either when an excitable doggo decided to “fetch” our buoy.

The Classic Paddle partners with Healthway and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Recreation. Their support of paddling in Western Australia is essential to the provision of the 60+ events Paddle WA and our Disciplines hold every year, and we are very grateful for their assistance.

We are also grateful for our volunteers. These are the people who get things done in the background – course planning, marshalling, spotting and timing. We hope you are getting to know them, and maybe if you’re able to, offer a helping hand on the day. All help is valuable and appreciated.

Did you enjoy your lunch? One of the many benefits of paddling in our events is the inclusion of healthy and delicious food after the race, and this year the Fremantle Mosman Park Cricket Club did not disappoint.

Our newly elected Paddle WA President, Jocelyn Sisson was on hand to present the podium winners.

This is the last of our three major Paddle WA events. We are already planning for next year’s events and are excited to be able to open them up for naming and branding sponsorships. If you, or someone you know may be interested, please get in touch admin@paddlewa.asn.au

Thank you to everyone for a great race and congratulations to all our podium winners.

Dash for Cash

Thank you to Royal Life Saving WA for their sponsorship of the Dash for Cash at the Canning Classic. This year it was $300 each to the first male and first female to Canning Bridge.
