2024 Paddle WA Hall of Fame

This year, we proudly welcomed eight elite paddlers into our Hall of Fame. They now join an esteemed company of Olympians and paddling legends, further enriching the legacy of our sport with their remarkable contributions and achievements.

We love paddling. For all it’s many benefits and the community it creates.

So it is a proud day when we can acknowledge those from our Western Australian paddling community who have excelled in the sport we all love by inducting them into our Hall of Fame.

They are ambassadors, innovators, mentors, advocators, Olympians and legends.

We held a special ceremony during our AGM and Annual Awards luncheon, and thank Cassie Rowe, MLA for Belmont for presenting the inductees and her lovely recollection of her own paddling exploits. We greatly appreciate her encouragement and support of our paddling community.

Cr Deborah Sessions, Deputy Mayor of the City of Belmont, also joined us, presenting our Annual Awards and we thank her, and the City for their amazing support of paddling.

We are proud of their achievements. They are ambassadors of paddling across many disciplines, inspiring a new generation of paddlers to chase their own high-performance paddling dreams.

Our elite Western Australian athletes often face extra hurdles and make significant sacrifices to pursue their high-performance and Olympic dreams. The high travel costs and lack of local white water training facilities frequently mean that these athletes must leave their families for the East coast at a young age.

Our 2024 Hall of Fame inductees have met all challenges, and we are immensely proud of their achievements. They serve as ambassadors of paddling across many disciplines, inspiring a new generation of paddlers to chase their own high-performance dreams and continue building the legacy of Western Australian paddling.
