Weekend White Water Adventure

Going from Go to Whoa! in their paddling skills.

A short time ago these women were introduced to paddling play boats and by August they were taking on the White Water at one meter at Walyunga.

Their white water adventure included wading, rescues, rapid swimming, ferry gliding, eddying and river running.

This incredible experience was made possible thanks to a Play Our Way grant, proudly organised by their club Coastal Rowing.

We were thrilled to be part of such a dynamic and empowering program. It was a true celebration of skill, teamwork, and fun on the water!

See what they had to say

Fantastic experience! Felt very safe, Leo and T2 shared a wealth of experience and knowledge, making it clear the risks and dangers of moving water, yet the instruction also lighthearted and fun.
We  got to get in amongst it pretty quickly and feel the thrill of riding the rapids! A very dynamic teaching Duo sharing their passion for the sport, at a pace a newbie could keep up with, learn some skills and have a go –
Highly recommend this introduction to White Water!

Leo and T2 were amazing guiding us throught the techniques needed for white water paddling.  Over the two days we learnt so much, not only about whitewater paddling but about ourselves.  I will do it again, truly an amazing experience.

T2’s words “Turn off your brain” fills my head as I rush down the chute with a huge terrified/exhilarated grin on my face!

We’re incredibly grateful to Nancy and the amazing team at Coastal Rowing Bunbury for the opportunity to support and challenge these inspiring women. Through paddling, they discovered fun, forged friendships, and felt the true power of empowerment on the water.
