Paddle WA is seeking a dedicated Executive Officer to lead our team and drive our organisation while working closely with the Paddle WA Board to grow paddling in Western Australia.

About Us
Paddle Western Australia (Paddle WA) proudly represents the entire paddle sports community in Western Australia. We develop, promote and support all aspects of paddle sports in Western Australia including high performance, competitive racing, recreational and social paddling, coaching, education and training, safety, volunteering and waterway conservation.
The Role
Reporting to the Paddle WA Board, the Executive Officer will lead our team of staff and volunteers to achieve strategic goals and deliver quality services. You will be responsible for navigating stakeholder environments, ensuring financial sustainability, overseeing programs and events, and enhancing our reputation and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Implement strategic plans in alignment with the board’s vision.
- Financial & Resource Management: Develop and meet budgets, ensure compliance, and diversify income through grants and sponsorships.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong, positive relationships with government departments, sponsors, Paddle Australia and our paddling community.
- Governance & Support: Provide leadership, integrity and good advice to the Board, staff, volunteers and clubs.
- Leadership: Inspire, motivate, and manage staff and volunteers to achieve Paddle WA goals. Ensure Paddle WA is managed ethically and efficiently.
About You
- Experience: Proven experience as an Executive Officer or at least two years in a senior leadership role, preferably within the NFP sporting sector.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Experience with volunteer management, members, government and sponsor partnerships.
- Financial Sustainability: Expertise in financial management, grant writing and revenue generation. Strong experience in managing operational budgets and seeking sustainable funding.
- Governance: Expertise in governance, risk management and strategic planning.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to manage stakeholder relationships with boards, national bodies, staff, volunteers, athletes, parents, and funding bodies.
- Attributes: Innovative, strategic thinker, resilient, autonomous worker.
