Are you passionate about coaching and developing athletes for high-performance sprint kayaking?
Paddle WA is seeking dedicated coaching staff to support junior athletes in the WA Sprint Pathways Program.
About the Role
This coaching opportunity includes on-water training and off-water mentorship, helping athletes refine their technique, analyze race data, and develop high-performance attributes. You’ll work closely with 12–16 athletes (aged 15–23), coordinating training sessions alongside club programs and collaborating with club coaches.
The position offers flexibility—one coach may oversee both aspects, or two coaches may split responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on-water coaching sessions and athlete mentorship.
- Plan and coordinate training schedules with club programs.
- Conduct video analysis and data-driven race profiling to enhance performance.
- Support the WASP training camp (tentatively scheduled for January 2026).
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Level 1 or higher flatwater coaching qualifications
- Experience coaching athletes in structured programs
- Working with Children certification
Preferred:
- Experience coaching or competing at a high-performance level
- Background in sports science, psychology, or coaching
- Ability to foster a positive team environment
