Enclosed Sea Guide – Kayak

A three-day instruction and assessment course for the Paddle Australia (PA) Enclosed Sea Guide – Kayak Award
For paddlers working in the industry and teachers who hold a current Flatwater
Guide – Kayak qualification or equivalent or proven extensive practical experience
in guiding school trips.
Participants provide their own suitable craft, paddle, life jacket and spray deck.
Minimum of 6 and maximum of 12 participants.
Instructors are Dave Worthy (Senior Sea Instructor and Assessor) and Joel Savage experienced Sea Kayaker

8.30 am to 12.30 pm Peel Inlet meet at Sandy Cove Tavern carpark,

Monday 23 February 2026
8.30am to 2.30pm Penguin Island Trip – Pengos Cafe Carpak,
shoal water foreshore end of Penguin Road, Safety Bay
About the course
This course will cover topics such as
- group management
- paddling guiding skills
- rescues and towing
- interpreting weather
- navigating and sea rules
- trip intentions, float plans and risk management
* Does not include Paddle Australia 3-year registration fee.
