Notice of Annual General meeting

Notice is provided of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Paddle Western Australia Inc. The AGM will be held at 2.00pm on Sunday 11 October 2026 at Swan Canoe Club, 16 Johnson Parade, Mosman Park WA.

Further information, including the agenda and meeting papers, will be distributed a minimum of fourteen (14) days prior to the meeting.

Elected Director Nominations Now Open

At the Annual General Meeting on the 11 October 2026, two (2) Elected Director positions will be declared vacant. Nominations to become an Elected Director are now open.

The two vacancies for Elected Directors to be filled at the 2026 AGM have arisen as follows:

  • Jocelyn Sisson, an elected director and current Chair, will reach the end of her initial three-year term and will seek re-election under the PWA Constitution.
  • Leonie Cockman, an elected director, has served as an Elected Director for the maximum consecutive period of six-years and will conclude her time as an Elected Director. We look forward to recognising and celebrating the significant contribution Leo has made to the Board at the AGM.

Elected Directors are required to be a current Paddle WA member, and be approved and endorsed by a club member.

To nominate, please review the Application Information Pack (attached) and submit your nomination by Sunday 27 September 2026.

Notice of intention to propose a Special Resolution

Notice has also been provided to all Affiliated Clubs of Paddle Western Australia Inc. of the intention to propose a special resolution at the abovementioned Annual General Meeting as follows:

To consider and, if thought fit, pass the following resolution as a Special Resolution:

That the existing Constitution (Rules) of Paddle Western Australia Inc. be repealed in its entirety and replaced with the new Constitution (Rules) attached to this notice, to take effect from the date the alteration is registered by Consumer Protection Western Australia.

The Board of Paddle WA have reviewed the existing Constitution in depth and has proposed updates modernise the Constitution to better protect members, support safe and sustainable operations, strengthen governance and accountability, and align Paddle WA with current legislative requirements and contemporary sporting organisation standards.
